The Inland Northwest Writers Guild (INWG) is excited to host three Spokane area mystery writing members at it’s monthly zoom meeting scheduled for April 1st. The Guild has been hosting events since 2008. The Mystery Authors Mini-Fest is the first time a specific genre with several different authors will be under the spotlight and this event promises to be fun for all!

Elena (Hartwell) Taylor is set to talk about her newest release, a standalone suspense novel titled The Haunting of Emily Grace. at the first Mini-Fest to be held by INWG. Previously, Taylor authored two separate mystery series, one featuring Eddie Shoes, and the other Sheriff Bet Rivers. In addition, she released two craft books in relation to Allegory Editing, the author’s writer-services consulting business. Taylor has fans everywhere, but she loves to call the Inland Northwest “home.” More about Taylor may be found on her website: http://www.ElenaTaylorAuthor.com
Author Chris Bieker is a dedicated Spokanite and her series of mysteries is a reflection of the love she feels for her hometown… and for horticulture. Characters are named after plants, you see (one is Det. Rex Begonia) which only adds to the humor in her books. But Bieker does not shy away from the topic of murder. Readers are always treated to the unspoken contest between the book’s characters and the reader: Who can solve the crime first! With three novels already on her fans’ bookshelves, including High Stakes at Hoopfest, I can’t wait to see what local event she will feature next time – or will she? Our third featured author – Janet Newton – has taken a decidedly cultural turn with her Llangynog Murders. The setting is Wales and the 9th release in this series – From Madness to Memory – offers all the mystery and suspense we’ve come to expect from Newton’s writing, and being treated to more Welsh lore. Let’s face it – murder is murder no matter where it occurs, but learning about customs and language makes it all unique! Visit Newton’s author page on Amazon for more details about her published works: https://www.amazon.com/stores/Janet-Newton/author/B08GL1XSHP
The event will take place on zoom beginning at 2 pm (PDT). INWG members and regular visitors will automatically receive the link by noon, but new folks are always welcome and, as always, there is no charge to attend. Request your link from lindathewriter@gmail.com. The more the merrier!
