Writing is pretty straight-forward most of the time. We have an idea for a story, we create characters to help tell that story, and we either come up with a plot-line or we wing it. But some types of writing, for example more literary works such as the retelling of myths, call on us to apply special writing tools like symbolism (e.g. allegory). And then there are tools that most novelists know well – e.g. pacing, cliff-hangers, promises to the reader. We’ll cover some of these tools in this section of our website. You may also want to check out the page About Writing for additional ideas. If you have any suggestions or questions, send them along to me at lindathewriter@gmail.com. I’ll include whatever I can.
