Writing is an art, a technical skill, an exercise in will-power, a way to communicate with others, or even an obsession. For any writer, practicing the craft may be all of these things – or less, or more. Writing may be persuasive or frightening, or educational or even comedic. But writing is always at least one thing: Powerful. Our words have the power to change others; wielding that power is a responsibility.
In this section of the website (a blog), I hope to turn a spotlight on the power of writing, including the ways it has been used in history to stir the hearts and minds of the masses, a small group or even just one or two others. We’ll look at truth, at lies, at misunderstanding, and at persuasive manipulation – for both intended good and intended bad. This is a journey of understanding. Please share your comments here and we can have a discussion About Writing.
